Chicago Metro AEYC Head To Toe Infant Toddler Conference on May 22

The Chicago Metro AEYC (Association for the Education of Young Children) Head to Toe Infant Toddler Conference will be held on May 22. Early childhood professionals come together for a day of targeted training on relevant topics including coping with challenging behavior, continuity of care, the importance of play, curriculum and environment, language and literacy and more.

Child Abuse Prevention Month Launches in April

April 07 2010

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month and all over Illinois there will be events happening to help raise awareness of the importance of keeping families strong and children safe. Prevent Child Abuse Illinois have been leading the coordination of three launch events in Illinois with other partners. Two launch events already occurred in Springfield and East St. Louis. In Chicago, the launch event took place at the Mitzi Friedham Englewood Child and Family Center on April 6 from 10:30 - 11:30 am. Lourdes Duarte, from WGN TV was Mistress of Ceremonies and attendees heard from a distinguished group of speakers that included 16th District State Senator Jacqueline Collins, local Alderman Toni Foulkes, IL DCFS Director Erwin McEwen, Voices for Illinois Children Executive Director Kathy Ryg, Children’s Home + Aid President Nancy Ronquillo, Prevent Child Abuse Illinois Executive Director Roy Harley, Director of Strategic Communications at Prevent Child Abuse America, Ben Tanzer. in addition to local Alderman Toni Foulkes and State Senator Jacqueline Collins.
