UCAN Teen Parenting Service Network (TPSN)

TPSN is contracted and funded by IDCFS to monitor all pregnant and parenting wards of the State and their children. As such, they work to enroll the children of teen parents into an early learning program. They conduct an early education marketing campaign statewide to all caseworkers working with pregnant or parenting wards; as well as work to set up developmental screenings and follow up on early intervention referrals.

TPSN will collaborate with Strengthening Families Illinois to mitigate barriers to teen parents enrolling their children in Head Start and other early education programs. TPSN will also work with Strengthening Families Illinois to strengthen these teen families, prevent child abuse and neglect and build protective factors by encouraging teen wards to participate in teen parent cafes, Awaken to Your Potential Leadership Training, and Living the Protective Factors Training.
