Funders’ Goals

Being a part of Strengthening Families Illinois meets many program funders’ goals because it:

• Develops a partnership between parents, teachers and schools.
• Provides a sound foundation for helping children meet social and emotional goals.
• Invites and prepares parents to be equal partners in their child’s education.
• Reinforces school learning goals at home.  Improves classroom management by strengthening parent alliances.
• Is engaging and interactive: parents like it, teachers like it, and kids like the results.
• Prepares parents to be good advocates in elementary school and beyond.
• Creates parent peer support networks.
• Draws on parents’ innate wisdom and leadership capacity.
• Develops skills in staff, teachers and parents.
• Results in higher school achievement for children.
