SFI is part of a nationwide movement to strengthen families. Nationally, Strengthening Families is a research-based, cost-effective strategy to increase family strengths, enhance child development and reduce child abuse and neglect. It focuses on building Protective Factors that promote healthy outcomes. Those Protective Factors are parental resilience, social connections, knowledge of parenting and child development, concrete support in times of need and social and emotional competence of children.
Nationally, Strengthening Families is coordinated by the Center for the Study of Social Policy. To learn more, visit the Strengthening Families national website.
