Registering for the board is relatively easy and only takes a few minutes. Click on the link at the top of the page. You’ll have options for selecting a name, setting preferences, getting an avatar, etc.

For all boards, you’ll have to be registered in order to post, and you also have to be registered to vote in polls. The boards are open to everyone, but requiring registration helps regulars remember to log in before posting (it’s annoying when you forget to log in, write a long post, and it shows up as “guest.")

You may register under a pseudonym if you wish. You must use a valid email address, but it may also be anonymous. We encourage you to introduce yourself but you’re not required to do so. Unfortunately, boards like this are inundated with attempts from spammers (who often use automated systems) to register and get extra links to their sites (to improve their search ratings).

This message board has been modified so they cannot benefit, but they don’t know that so they still try to register. We do a few little things to reduce the spam load (and make it harder for them). Your registration will not be complete until you respond to the email sent automatically when you register. It will be sent from info at strengtheningfamiliesillinois dot org, so make sure your spam filter accepts mail from that address.

If you get deleted by mistake (sometimes we’re deleting lots of spammers), just email us and we’ll fix it. Note that if you register, you are authorizing the site administrator to add your email to SFI’s monthly E-Newsletter.
